As a New Year’s resolution 2 years ago I decided on getting fit and learning a new martial art form. Aikido Shudokan ticked all the boxes and the instructors are really world class. If you want a challenge then I suggest you get along to sample what it’s all about.

The instructors are patient and genuinely skilled. I came for self-defence and stayed for everything else.

At 40, I had never done a martial art before and found it accessible and welcoming. It's a traditional dojo so it focuses on respect, discipline and spirit. There is a diverse group of people training; multicultural and all gender. You can go at your own pace with plenty of encouragement and world class teaching.
